Planning: Flat plan - front page

My front page:

My plan includes using colours like: pink, yellow and blue on the page to make it look vibrant. I choose to use these colours because I think they would best appeal to the target audience as they're young so don't want dull colours to lower the tone. Also, in my audience research I found that some liked the use of pink in the magazine so I have tried to incorporate the colour into my work so to appeal to the target audience. My model takes up most of the page. I wanted to compose the page with her in the middle because I wanted a lot of the reader's attention on her because she gives extra information into who the main sell line is about plus she is interesting to look at so will make the reader want to read the magazine on first glance. I have tried to make the layout of the magazine look messy and intresting to look at . I did this because after looking at other magazine layouts I found the more puffs and random elements on the page you use the more interesting it looks like and so will draw the reader's attention plus after conducting my audience research most people commented on either they liked the layout or the layout was the first thing they saw so by keeping the layout on my magazine the same I should appeal to the target audience. My mast head style was taken from "We love Pop"'s mast head. I liked the way they incorporated the pink while using a speech bubble so I used the idea because it will catch people's attention and tell the reader what the magazine is about.

Comparing my page to a professionals:

When comparing my flat plan to a professional front page I can see a few similarities. Firstly, both images have a striking model in the center of the page to draw a lot of the reader's attention to her. Both advertise free posters inside the magazine to make the reader feel they're getting value for money. My plan has some of the professional's layout in it. For example: the shape the main sell line is in and  the "seriously clever shopping" part are both featured in my magazine to make it look professional. Some of colours used in my plan are featured on the professionals: pink, yellow and blue. Lastly, both use a bar-code to make the magazine sell able and creditable.

After comparing the two I believe my magazine could be professional standards and doesn't need any adjustments at the moment.
