Planning: Flat plan - contents

My contents page:

I have tried to incorporate: a-lot of pink and the mast head into my contents because when researching professional magazines I found they brought the house style from the front page to the contents and this is what I am aiming to do. I split my articles into categories with page numbers along side them because when looking at a professional's they too split the articles to make it easy for the reader to find what story they're looking for. Lastly, I used a range of pictures to make the page look interesting so the reader will want to find out what is happening plus after looking at a professional pop magazine I found they too used a lot of images on the contents so I did the same.

Comparing my page to a professionals:

Firstly, I chose to use "We love Pop"'s borders because I thought they made the page look striking. I also copied the use of the three images along the side and a main image in the center because it gives the reader something interesting to look at while helping them to refer to the story. Plus, I think it makes the page look interesting so I used this layout. Lastly, I used the magazine's "WE LOVE THIS..." title because I thought it encouraged the reader to read the articles because they weren't the only ones who liked the story, I copied this function so my readers would read my magazine. Lastly, the title also made the page look clean and fresh because of the bold and straight lines. This would appeal to my target audience as they're young so a modern and contemporary feel would appeal to them more than an old fashioned atmosphere.

Lastly, at this moment I don't think I need to change my plan however I may need to add more writing about the main image as professional magazines do this already.
